The Modality

  • Ebb & Flow is our signature approach: a blend of deep, rhythmic massage and the therapeutic warmth of sculpted wooden tools. It mirrors the natural curves of the body and invites clients into a state of ease, delivering both luxurious relaxation and meaningful results.

  • Not at all. While it shines in luxury spa environments, it’s equally at home anywhere intentional, heated bodywork is valued, like clinical, orthopedic, and private practice settings.

The Tool

  • No special equipment is required beyond a safe heating source and a standard massage setup. The tool is designed to work with what you already have.

  • Ebb and Flow is available for professional and retail sale. It also pairs beautifully with our body oils, and rituals for an elevated, story-driven spa experience.

  • The Ebb and Flow massage tool is crafted from sustainably sourced maple wood, chosen for its strength, durability, and smooth texture. Maple is a dense, resilient wood with a high silica that provides a secure, non-slippery grip while offering a refined aesthetic. Its natural properties make it an ideal choice for massage tools, as it stands up to regular use without compromising on performance. By using sustainably sourced maple, we ensure that our tools not only offer long-lasting quality but also reflect our commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

  • The Ebb and Flow massage tool is finished with three coats of tung oil, a food-safe coating that protects the wood while keeping it non-slippery. Unlike other tools that can feel slippery after use, this finish ensures a secure grip, giving you the control and comfort you need during treatments. With proper care, you can trust that this tool will serve you reliably throughout your entire career.

  • Thoughtfully contoured to mirror the curves of the body, the Ebb and Flow tool delivers deep, consistent pressure while retaining therapeutic heat. Designed by a massage therapist for real-world use, it elevates the client experience while supporting the longevity and artistry of the practitioner.

  • The Ebb and Flow tool is heated using a standard hot towel cabbie, something many therapists already have in their practice! This heating element is versatile and can be used for more than just the tools, making it a cost-effective and space-efficient solution for your spa or clinic.

  • Hot towel cabbies are designed to maintain a consistent temperature, typically between 130°F and 160°F (54°C to 71°C), with 140°F (60°C) being the standard for effective heating. While most towel cabbies do not have adjustable settings, they are engineered to provide the ideal warmth for towels and tools like the Ebb and Flow, ensuring a comfortable experience for both clients and practitioners.

Care & Cleaning

  • To clean the Ebb and Flow massage tool, use a Decon 30 spray or Decon 30 wipes, or hydrogen peroxide on a soft cloth to gently wipe the surface. Avoid using water or soaking the tool, as it can damage the wood. Be sure to dry the tool completely after cleaning, and store it in a dry place to maintain its integrity. Regular cleaning with these methods helps ensure the tool stays sanitized and in optimal condition for every session.

  • How do I know the Ebb and Flow massage tool is clean?

To ensure the Ebb and Flow tool is thoroughly sanitized, we had it tested by a third-party lab for bacteria, fungus, and viruses. The results confirmed that no harmful microorganisms were present.
